In the Department of Accounting, you can access the foundational knowledge, technical skills, professionalism training and networking opportunities essential to turn your BBA in Accounting or Master’s in Accounting into a meaningful career. Graduates of the accounting department have a near-100 percent job placement rate upon graduation, thanks to unparalleled opportunities offered to meet major recruiters at our career fairs, collaborate with fellow students in one of our three student organizations, and gain real-world experience through internships and our volunteer income tax assistance clinic.

BBA in Accounting

The BBA degree in accounting at Texas State allows students to set a foundation for almost any career in business. Students are provided with an understanding of current accounting and management theories (including their practical applications), and they learn how to manage ethical situations in their professional careers. Knowledge gained in the program will allow for career paths that include business and industry, government, not-for-profit, and education.

Master of Accountancy

The overall objective of the MAcy program is to produce accounting students broadly educated in business fundamentals, research methodology, accounting concepts and accounting practices. Students explore the social and environmental effects of accounting information on those who rely on it for decision making. A unique aspect of the program is its emphasis on the ethical implications of accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.
